The app and its license

Don’t Crop Me is an iPhone app published by the company YOANN CROIZER, as YopYan Studio (see the legal notice). In these pages, “I” refers to this publisher, represented by its managing director, Yoann Croizer. The app is distributed through Apple’s App Store, and its license is Apple’s standard license agreement. These terms supplement it and also apply to this website; if they conflict on the use of the app, Apple’s agreement prevails. By using the app or this website, you accept these terms.

Apple is not a party to these terms: I, not Apple, am responsible for the app, its content and its support.

What the app does

The app records a little wider than what the screen shows, then reframes the photo to fix obvious misses: feet or head cut off, someone half out of the frame, a tilted horizon. This reframing is automatic and can get it wrong: you can always adjust it, or keep the full capture.

Your photos, your responsibility

Your photos are yours, and the app sends them nowhere (see the Privacy Policy). You are responsible for the photos you take and what you do with them: respect the image rights and privacy of the people you photograph, and places where photography is not allowed. Do not use the app or this website for unlawful purposes.

Free, and support purchases

The app is free, with no ads and no subscription, and all its features are free. In its Settings, “Buy me a coffee” offers optional purchases (a coffee, a beer, a pizza) to support the developer: they unlock no feature. They are sold by Apple (in the European Union, Apple Distribution International), at the price shown in the App Store, taxes included, under the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions of your country, which include your cancellation rights where they apply. For a refund, contact Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Support

Support is provided by me, not by Apple: write to contact@yoanncroizer.fr. I usually answer within a few days, with no guaranteed response time.

Ownership

The app, its name, logo, texts and images, and this website belong to the publisher or to Yoann Croizer, or are used with their owners’ permission, like the Instrument Sans typeface, under its free license (SIL Open Font License). You can talk about them, share them and show screenshots, but not copy, modify or resell them. iPhone, iOS, iCloud and App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc.

Availability and changes to the app

The app may evolve, change features or stop, for example to keep up with new versions of iOS. It runs on iPhone with iOS 18 or later. You can stop using it at any time by deleting it.

Liability

The app is made with care and provided free of charge, as is: I can’t guarantee that it is free of errors or suits every use. It never deletes a photo from Photos; still, keep a backup of your photos. To the extent permitted by law, I am not liable for indirect damages arising from the use of the app or this website. These limits do not apply to gross negligence or willful misconduct, or to personal injury, and nothing in these terms restricts the rights the law gives you as a consumer.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you can go to the courts where you live. If there’s a disagreement, write to me first: we’ll most likely find a solution.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the new version will be published on this page, with its date; it does not apply to the past. By continuing to use the app or this website afterwards, you accept the new version.
